IMA AF Form 2096 Submission for Classification/On-the-Job Training Actions

This page will assist Unit Training Managers in completing and submitting the AF Form 2096, Classification/On-the-Job Training Action, for Air Force Reserve IMA's. This information synthesizes guidance found in AFI 36-2101, Classifying Military Personnel and AFI 36-2201, Air Force Training Program as well as the Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) maintenance and Special Experience Identifier (SEI) Personnel Services Delivery Guides.

Use the AF Form 2906 to request award, upgrade, correction, or re-designation of an AFSC, Special Duty Identifier (SDI), Reporting Identifier (RI), Special Experience Identifier (SEI) or Training Status Code (TSC).

Processing/Routing the AF Form 2096

Use the provided instruction guides to complete the AF Form 2096. An improperly completed, inaccurate or illegible AF Form 2096 will be returned without action to the requester.

It is the responsibility of the Unit Training Manager and the IMA's supervisor to ensure the member has met all upgrade requirements prior to submitting the AF2096. The IMA's assigned RIO Detachment is the processing agency for each AF Form 2096 submitted on behalf of an IMA. HQ ARPC will ensure the processed AF Form 2096 is forwarded to ARMS for upload into the members record.
