7/18/2010 - DENVER -- Air Reserve Personnel Center officials here announced results for the 2010 Air National Guard Line and Nonline Lieutenant Colonel and Major and the 2010 Air Force Reserve Chaplain and Line of the Air Force - Judge Advocate Major and Lieutenant Colonel Promotion Selection boards today. These boards selected 497 Airmen for promotion.

The selection boards convened at the center April 19 to determine those officers qualified to assume the next higher grade. Board members selected 429 of 451 Air National Guard officers considered and 68 of 185 Air Force Reserve officers considered.

A complete list of Airmen selected for promotion is available online for ANG Lieutenant Colonels, ANG Majors, Reserve Chaplain and Line of the Air Force - Judge Advocate Lieutenant Colonels, and Reserve Majors.

Categories considered during these promotion boards are: Air National Guard Line, Chaplain, Dental Corps (DC), Line of the Air Force - Judge Advocate (LAF-J), Medical Corps (MC), Nurse Corps (NC), Medical Service Corps (MSC) and Biomedical Sciences Corps (BSC) officers; and Air Force Reserve Chaplain and LAF-J officers.

Selection statistics in-the-promotion zone (IPZ):

To lieutenant colonel
-- 181 line officers were selected from 239 considered for a 76 percent selection rate.
-- Six chaplains were selected from eight considered for a 75 percent selection rate.
-- Three DC officers were selected from three considered.
-- Four LAF-J officers were selected from four considered.
-- Seven MC officers were selected from nine considered for a 78 percent selection rate.
-- 24 NC officers were selected from 27 considered for an 89 percent selection rate.
-- Four MSC officers were selected from five considered for an 80 percent selection rate.
-- Three BSC officers were selected from three considered.

To major
-- 104 line officers were selected from 112 considered for a 93 percent selection rate.
-- One chaplain was selected from three considered for a 33 percent selection rate.
-- One DC officer was selected from one considered.
-- Three LAF-J officers were selected from three considered.
-- Four MC officers were selected from four considered.
-- 10 NC officers were selected from 12 considered for an 83 percent selection rate.
-- Seven MSC officers were selected from seven considered.
-- 10 BSC officers were selected from 11 considered for a 91 percent selection rate.

-- 35 line officers were selected from 75 considered for a 47 percent selection rate.
-- Two chaplains were selected from two considered.
-- No DC officers were selected of one considered.
-- One LAF-J officer was selected from two considered for a 50 percent selection rate.
-- One MC officer was selected from two considered for a 50 percent selection rate.
-- One NC officer was selected from six considered for a 17 percent selection rate.
-- One MSC officer was selected from one considered.
-- No BSC officer was selected from one considered.

To major
-- 11 line officers were selected from 15 considered for a 73 percent selection rate.
-- One MC officer was selected from one considered.
-- One NC officer was selected from one considered.
-- Two MSC officers were selected from three considered for a 67 percent selection rate.
-- One BSC officer was selected from two considered for a 50 percent selection rate.
-- No chaplains, DC or LAF-J officers were considered.

-- 20 LAF-J officers were selected from 29 considered for a 69 percent selection rate.

-- 12 chaplains were selected from 14 considered for an 86 percent selection rate.
-- 15 LAF-J officers were selected from 17 considered for an 88 percent selection rate.

To lieutenant colonel
-- One chaplain was selected from six considered for a 17 percent selection rate.
-- Five LAF-J officers were selected from 26 considered for a 19 percent selection rate.

To major
-- Two chaplains were selected from four considered for a 50 percent selection rate.
-- Two LAF-J officers were selected from six considered for a 33 percent selection rate.

Nonparticipating selection statistics in-the-promotion zone (IPZ):

To lieutenant colonel
-- No chaplains were considered.
-- One LAF-J officer was selected from two considered for a 50 percent selection rate.

To major
-- No chaplains were selected from two considered.
-- One LAF-J officer was selected from 21 considered for a 5 percent selection rate.

Nonparticipating selection statistics above-the-promotion zone (APZ):

To lieutenant colonel
-- No chaplains were considered.
-- No LAF-J officers were selected.

To major
-- One chaplain was selected from four considered for a 25 percent selection rate.
-- No LAF-J officers were selected from 40 considered.

Selection statistics position vacancy (PV):

To lieutenant colonel
-- One chaplain was selected from two considered for a 50 percent selection rate.
-- Four LAF-J officers were selected from six considered for a 67 percent selection rate.

To major
-- One chaplain was selected from one considered.
-- No LAF-J officers were considered.

The Date of Rank and Promotion Effective Date for officers selected for promotion will be the date the officer completes the required two years time in grade, public release date, or Secretary of Defense approval, whichever is later.
