Col Brooke Schmidly is Mobilization Assistant to the Director, Military Justice and Discipline Directorate, Office of the Judge Advocate General, JB Andrews, Maryland. She assists the Director in development and review of military justice policy and legislation; prosecution, defense, and victims’ representation at the trial and appellate levels; clemency and parole; and representation of Airmen in the disability evaluation system. Further, she provides professional oversight and mentorship to ARC JAG & paralegals throughout the Division.
Colonel Schmidly entered the Air Force in May 1997 through ROTC from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She received an educational delay to attend law school and graduated with honors from the University of Houston Law Center in 2000. She served on active duty for six years at Offutt Air Force Base, NE, Fort Meade MD, and as the Area Defense Counsel at Andrews AFB, MD. She has served as a reservist for 18 years, serving in multiple positions including as the Staff Judge Advocate for the 916 Airlift Wing, Seymour Johnson AFB, NC and Staff Judge Advocate for Headquarters, 22nd Air Force, Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Georgia. Before her current assignment, she served as the Senior Individual Mobilization Augmentee to the Staff Judge Advocate, Headquarters, Pacific Air Forces.
