Colonel David DeAngelis is the Mobilization Assistant to the Commander, Fifteenth Air Force, Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina. Fifteenth Air Force optimizes the overall readiness of conventional Combat Air Forces and presents units to combatant commanders for worldwide employment. Additionally, Fifteenth Air Force commands 17 wings and two direct reporting units in the U.S., ensuring that over 850 aircraft and 55,000 associated personnel are prepared, generated and sustained according to Air Force priorities and operational requirements.
Colonel DeAngelis previously served as Deputy Commander of the Air National Guard Air Force Reserve Command Test Center (AATC) Tucson, Arizona. In this role, he led a total-force team of 260 National Guard, Reserve, Active Duty, Civilian, and contractor personnel conducting critical operational and developmental test and evaluation for key weapon systems, directly accelerating warfighter capabilities.
Colonel DeAngelis grew up in Buffalo, New York and graduated as a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy. Colonel DeAngelis flew F-16s for 9 years in three operational assignments and deployed in support of combat
operations in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Colonel DeAngelis is a command pilot with more than 2,400 hours in the F-16 and 400 hours in the F-35. As the initial cadre F-35 squadron commander he was responsible for standing up F-35 flight operations at Hill AFB. Col DeAngelis also served as a Division Chief on the Joint Staff J36 Directorate and is a Joint Qualified Officer. In his civilian capacity, Colonel DeAngelis has helped integrate, design and field software updates for the Block 30, 40, 50, and European Air Force F-16.
