BRIG. GEN. ELLEN M. MOORE

Brig. Gen. Ellen M. Moore is the Commander, Headquarters Air Reserve Personnel Center, Buckley Air Force Base, Colo. She is responsible for personnel support to nearly 1.3 million Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve, Regular Air Force and retired members, ensuring they are ready to deliver strategic Total Force war fighting capability for the Air Force. From initial entry to retirement, the center provides world-class support for "Generations of Airmen" throughout their military careers. In addition, Headquarters Individual Reservist Readiness and Integration Organization reports directly to her. Headquarters RIO is responsible for the readiness, accountability, personnel and administrative servicing of more than 8,500 Individual Reservists worldwide. The center is a major command direct reporting unit of Air Force Reserve Command.

General Moore was commissioned in 1987 through the Air Force ROTC program at The Ohio State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. She was selected as a regular officer in 1992 and spent 11 years on active duty before transitioning to the Air Force Reserve.

She participated in Operation Southern Watch and recently served as the Combined Forces Special Operations Command Central liaison to Central Command Forward Headquarters, supporting Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. She is a fully qualified personnel officer, logistics officer, and has the honor of being hand-picked as the first Air Force Reservist to teach Air Force ROTC. The general is a fully certified Joint Qualified Officer. Prior to assuming her current position, General Moore was the Director of Manpower, Personnel and Services, Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command, Robins AFB, Ga.
