Introduction

This training is intended for Individual Reservists who are unable to participate in Sexual Assault Prevention and Response training with their assigned unit or organization. Every attempt should be made to attend in-person training sessions. If you are unable to attend SAPR training in-person, please continue with this course. It is expected that you will view and read all materials contained in the following modules.

Modules 1-3 contain 80 minutes of video (SAPR Training Parts 1-3) which address sexual assault and the culture that allows for it to exist. The subject matter scenarios and discussions in this training may include graphic language of a sexual nature and although you may find it offensive, being open and honest in discussion is the only way we know to address this issue. You or someone very close to you may be a survivor of sexual assault or some other personal trauma and this training may cause you to become distressed or it may become difficult for you to participate. We fully understand and at any time you may take a break or end the videos.

In the two lessons that follow these videos, you will learn about male victimization and how to talk to a survivor of sexual assault. These lessons include short video segments and readings. As you watch and read through these materials, try to envision how you would handle a situation in which one of your Airmen comes to you and reports that they've been sexually assaulted. How would you react? What steps would you take? How would you support that Airman?

Remember, we all have a part to play in the prevention of sexual assault. The key to doing this is knowing your role and, when the time comes, doing your part.

If you have already attended the 90-minute SAPR briefing and need to complete the two required breakout sessions, click the breakout sessions link below. This option requires that you provide your Unit Reserve Coordinator or Unit Training Manager a copy of the attendance roster or a message from your supervisor indicating you attended the training, along with the certificate of completion.
