Statement of Understanding

Vision
As an element of Total Force Development, we aim to create an Air Force Reserve that is responsive to Air Force requirements and managed as an integral part of the Total Force.

Goal
Produce Citizen Airmen who possess the tactical expertise, operational competence, and strategic vision to lead and execute the full spectrum of Air Force missions.

Objective
To execute key, command and joint assignments for a small number of O-4 and O-5 positions. This does not include squadron commander assignments, as those are managed at the unit level. A few command assignments will be coded as a key position.

Each of these Key & Joint Assignments has a term-limit of three years, allowing for a greater number of Airmen to gain valuable experience.
