Welcome to HQ RIO

Welcome to the Individual Reserve! Whether you are coming straight from active duty or returning to the Air Force after a break in service, we're glad you've decided to join the Individual Mobilization Augmentee or the Participating Individual Ready Reserve program.

Here at Headquarters Individual Reservist Readiness and Integration Organization, our job is to ensure you have the resources you need to get the mission done. While the responsiblity for readiness rests on your shoulders, it's our goal to provide you the tools to accomplish your readiness. Use this page as a starting point and then explore the other sections of this site for more IR resources. You'll find important personnel and finance forms, how-to guides and contact information that will help you as you get started on this new chapter in your Air Force career.

Individual Reserve Orientation

Date: Nov. 15-17, 2016

Purpose: Integrate new IR populace in IR program (Not Mandatory)

Location: Buckley AFB Colorado

Registration (closes: Sept. 30, 2016):

  • Log-in to myPers (http://mypers.af.mil)
  • Select "Incidents/Messages" under My Account (top left of home screen, below the myPers logo and site navigation bar)
  • Select "Email Us"
  • Component - "Air Reserve"
  • Category - "Training"
  • Subject - "IR Orientation enrollment"
  • Question - Supply the required registration items listed below
    • Detachment assigned
    • Rank
    • Name (last, first)
    • Contact number
    • E-mail address
    • Is lodging being requested (yes or no)
    • HQ RIO Detachment commander endorsement (for IMAs gained more than 12 months prior to class date)

Eligibility: New IMAs (gained in previous 12 months). IMAs who exceed the 12 month window may attend with HQ RIO Detachment commander approval.
