MSgt Krystal Q. Knight is the first sergeant for Headquarters Readiness and Integration Organization at Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora, Colorado. As the first sergeant, she is an extension of the commander’s authority; the communication link between the commander, unit members, and support agencies. MSgt Knight is also charged with the duty to minimize negative impacts and effects on the mission, unit cohesion, readiness, and morale.
MSgt Knight enlisted in the Air Force Reserve in June 2003. She attended the Aerospace Medical Service Apprentice Technical Training Course at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas completing the course as top graduate in March of 2004. The second and third on-the-job training phases of her technical training were completed at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi with respective graduation dates of May and August 2004. In 2016, MSgt Knight became a Noncommissioned Officer Leadership Development Course facilitator. To date, she has facilitated at eight installations to include one joint force course in the combat zone.
MSgt Knight has deployed in support of Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and INHERENT RESOLVE. In 2018, MSgt Knight was selected as an Air Force Reserve Command First Sergeant Academy Adjunct Instructor. Prior to her current assignment, MSgt Knight served as the first sergeant for the 403d Security Forces Squadron, 403d Wing, Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi.
