Col Dion R. Flynn is the Mobilization Assistant to the Commander, Second Air Force, Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi. She assists the commander in the development, oversight and direction of all operational aspects of Basic Military Training, initial skills training and advanced technical training for the Air Force enlisted force, non-rated operations and support officers. Second Air Force provides training in more than 275 Air Force specialties through 2,700 courses and graduates 150,000 Airmen, Guardians, Soldiers, Sailors, Marines and international students annually.
Col Flynn received her commission from the United States Air Force Academy in 1995. She has served as a weapons system test manager for both hardware and software testing while on active duty. Since joining the AF Reserve in 2002, Col Flynn has served at the Wing, Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command, and Headquarters Air Force level and commanded at the squadron and group level including as the first 378th Expeditionary Air Base Group Commander on Prince Sultan Air Base, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in direct
support of Operations INHERENT RESOLVE and SPARTAN SHIELD. Prior to her current position, Col Flynn was the Commander, 94th Mission Support Group, 94th Airlift Wing, Dobbins Air Reserve Base, Ga.
In her civilian capacity, Col Flynn has held leadership positions working in the public sector in the areas of economic development, military, community and legislative affairs, including serving as Policy Advisor on Military Affairs to the Governor of Arizona.
