Col. Sheila W. Wilds is the Mobilization Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Manpower and Reserve Affairs, the Pentagon, Washington, D.C. She is responsible for overall organization and supervision of all matters pertaining to Air Force Reserve Component affairs and strategic-level, long range personnel and manpower issues for the Air Force Reserve. She serves as the top advisor to the Chief and Deputy to the Chief of Air Force Reserve and senior staff in determining the most appropriate human capital management policies in support of Air Force readiness and operations.
Col. Wilds attended Weber State University in Ogden, Utah, and was commissioned as a Distinguished Graduate through the Academy of Military Science in September 2000. She then certified in the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program in the 6th Space Operations Squadron where she held multiple positions. In 2006, she was selected to serve as Aide-de-Camp to the Commander, Air Force Reserve Command. She served in various assignments at Headquarters Air Force, to include Chief, House Appropriations and Congressional Issues where she liaised with the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense. In 2014, Col.
Wilds was selected as the first Reserve Liaison Officer to work with the Space and Cyber Panel in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategic Plans and Programs. Following her Pentagon assignments, she served as the Director, Reserve Management Office at the National Reconnaissance Office in Chantilly, Virginia. Prior to her current assignment, Col. Wilds was the Commander of the 926th Operations Group at Nellis AFB, Nev.
In 2009, Col. Wilds deployed to Joint Base Balad, Iraq, as the executive officer to the commander, 332d Air
Expeditionary Wing.
