Colonel Kyle H. Goldstein is the Mobilization Assistant to the Commander, Nineteenth Air Force, Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas. Nineteenth Air Force is composed of 32,000 Total Force personnel and 1,530 aircraft assigned to 17 Total Force wings located across the U.S. He supports the Commander who is responsible for more than 45% of the U.S. Air Force’s annual flying hour program, which trains 27,000 U.S. and allied aircrew annually, flying 23 types of aircraft. The Nineteenth Air Force leads production and oversees top-level instruction and flying operations, manning, contracts, logistics and maintenance trends. Training encompasses entry-level undergraduate, rotary wing and remotely piloted aircraft pilots, combat systems officers, advanced fourth and fifth-generation fighter pilots, air mobility and special operations combat crew training, which ultimately provides fully qualified aircrew personnel to the warfighting commands.
Prior to his current position, Col. Goldstein was the Deputy Commander, 934th Airlift Wing located at Minneapolis-St. Paul Air Reserve Station Minn. As the installation deputy commander, he also led the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the Air Reserve Station.
Originally from Dallas, Texas, he graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and earned his commission through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps. Colonel Goldstein graduated from Undergraduate Pilot Training at Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, in 2000 and was assigned as an F-15C fighter pilot at the 58th Fighter Squadron, Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. In 2003, he deployed to Tabuk Air Base, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as an integral member of the 485th Air Expeditionary Wing. He executed critical missions supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom, ensuring air superiority during strikes over Baghdad.
Colonel Goldstein is a command pilot with over 3,000 flying hours in the F-15C, T-38A/C, B-737, T-37 with over 60 of those in combat missions during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
