Colonel MICHAEL S. MALONEY

Col. Michael S. Maloney is the Mobilization Assistant to the Commander, 618th Air Operations Center (Tanker Airlift Control Center), Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. The 618th AOC is responsible for operational planning, scheduling, directing and assessing a fleet of approximately 1,100 aircraft in support of combat delivery, strategic airlift, air refueling, global air mobility support and aeromedical evacuation operations around the world.

Colonel Maloney entered the Air Force in May 1995 and was commissioned through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps at the University of Missouri. He began his career as a navigator and electronic warfare officer in the B-52H aircraft at Barksdale Air Force Base (AFB) before graduating from pilot training in 2002. Prior to his current position, the Colonel was the Commander, 910th Airlfit Wing, and installation commander, Youngstown Air Reserve Station, OH.

Colonel Maloney is a Command Pilot with more than 5,000 military and civilian flight hours. His previous notable assignments include Wing Inspector General and Director of Inspections at the 919th Special Operations Wing, Duke Field, Fla. He was also Commander of the Joint Special Operations
Detachment-Uganda and the 6th Expeditionary Special Operations Squadron while deployed to Entebbe, Uganda. In addition, Colonel Maloney was the Chief Foreign Language Training and Senior Director, Air Force Special Operations Command, and the US Air Forces Europe, Air Forces Africa liaison officer to US Africa Command. Finally, he is a certified Foreign Area Officer (FAO), European Specialty.
