Colonel Kristine Smith is the Mobilization Assistant to the Director of Strategic Plans, Programs, and Requirements, Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command, Robins AFB, GA. Col Smith supports the director in the planning and programming of more than
$6.9 billion annually for a force of more than 69,000 personnel and 800 total organizations. She assists the director in the development of strategic and contingency plans, major equipment requirements and doctrine reviews. Additionally, she assists with AFRC’s total-force integration efforts supporting nine major commands and all lead command/agents.
Colonel Smith was commissioned in 1996 through the ROTC program at Florida State University. She is a Distinguished Graduate of the Air Battle Manager School and a recipient of the Squadron Officers School Clebe McCleary award for leadership. Her staff and operational assignments include duties as an instructor, evaluator, flight commander, Mission Crew Commander, and Headquarters Air Force branch chief. Col Smith deployed several times in support of
Operations Southern Watch, Allied Force, Northern Watch and Enduring Freedom. She commanded the 710 Combat Operations Squadron, an Air Operations Center focused on the Central Command Area of Responsibility, from 2017 to 2019 where she routinely participated in exercise and real-world contingency operations as a Battle Director in the 609 Air Operations Center. Col Smith served as the Reserve Advisor to the Commander, 9 Air Force (Air Forces Central) at Shaw AFB South Carolina. Prior to her current assignment, she served as the Deputy Wing Commander of the 655 Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Wing, Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio.
In her civilian capacity, Kristine is the Director of the Plans and Requirements Division for Air Forces Central at Shaw AFB, South Carolina. In this capacity, she is responsible for the planning and programming of a $1.2B requirements portfolio for the air component operations in the Central Command Area of Operations and oversees the real property resources located on Shaw AFB in support of distributed command and control, intelligence and communications operations.
