COLONEL KELLI B. SMILEY

Col. Kelli B. Smiley is the Commander, Headquarters Air Reserve Personnel Center, Buckley Air Force Base, Colorado. She is responsible for executing personnel and finance program operations providing support to nearly 1.3 million Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve, Regular Air Force and retired members, ensuring they are ready to deliver strategic Total Force war fighting capability for the Air Force. From initial entry to retirement, the center provides world-class support for "Generations of Airmen" throughout their military careers. In addition, Headquarters Individual Reservist Readiness and Integration Organization (HQ RIO) reports directly to her. HQ RIO is responsible for the readiness, accountability, personnel and administrative servicing of more than 8,000 Individual Reservists worldwide. The center is a major command direct reporting unit of Air Force Reserve Command.

Colonel Smiley was commissioned in 1991 as a distinguished graduate from the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Prior to her current assignment, Colonel Smiley was the Commander, Headquarters Individual Reservist Readiness and Integration Organization (HQ RIO), Buckley AFB. HQ RIO's mission is to seamlessly integrate wartime-ready Individual Reserve forces in more than 50 Major Air Commands (MAJCOMs), Combatant Commands (COCOMs) and government agencies to meet Air Force and Combatant Commander requirements. Colonel Smiley has served in the Active Duty Air Force as well as in the Air Force Reserve as an individual mobilization augmentee (IMA), traditional reservist, Active Guard/Reserve (AGR) and Air Reserve Technician (ART) officer. She has performed duties in a variety of assignments including expeditionary and force support squadron command as well as at the HQ Air Force and the HQ Air Force Personnel Center.
