COLONEL KENNETH J. OSTRAT

Col. Kenneth J. Ostrat is the Mobilization Assistant to the Director, Integration and Innovation, Deputy Chief of Staff, Air Force Futures, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia. In this position, he leads advanced efforts for future force design, data analytics, capability development integration, innovative solutions and disruptive technology, and Headquarters Air Force wargaming across the total force for multi-domain concepts. Air Force Futures (HAF A5/7) identifies prioritized ways and means to guide resourcing priorities, improving Air Force lethality and enhancing the joint and coalition fight.

Col. Ostrat enlisted in the Air National Guard in 1990. He graduated from San Jose State University in California and received his commission through the ANG Academy of Military Science in 1994. Prior to his current position, he served as the Inspector General, Air Force Reserve Command. In his career, he has served in numerous Group, Wing, NAF and MAJCOM level positions. He flew search and rescue missions in the CA ANG before transferring to the Air Force Reserve, where he has flown weather reconnaissance, airlift and air refueling missions. He is a command pilot with more than 4,200 hours.

Col. Ostrat has participated in numerous contingency operations, including SOTHERN WATCH, NOTHERN WATCH, CORONET OAK, IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM, NEW DAWN, UNIFIED RESPONSE IN HAITI, PAKISTANI FLOOD RELIEF, OPERATION INHERENT RESOLVE AND RESOLUTE SUPPORT.
