MGIB-SR Waiver
The waiver process is an opportunity for reservists to respond when they feel an error has been made regarding their MGIB-SR eligibility/benefits.
How to request a waiver? A waiver package must be submitted by the Airman. The airman must state clearly what she is asking for and why. Include as much supporting documentation as possible. Copies of the following documents must be included in the package:
-- Memo from the Airman requesting the waiver.
-- Letter of endorsement by supervisor (Recoupment Waivers Only).
-- Recommendation by the commander (Recoupment Waivers Only).
-- Copy of Airman's Termination/Suspension/Recoupment notification letter.
-- Copy of DD Form 2384/2384-1, Notice of Basic Eligibility.
-- Copy of Airman's assignment order(s).
-- Copy of any documentation pertinent to the case.
-- Copy of DD Form 4, Reserve Enlistment (Enlisted only).
The package is then forwarded to HQ ARPC/DPSVN, 6760 E Irvington Pl, Denver CO 80280-4005. Depending on the level of approval, response time for received packages is about 20 business days. A waiver request without the required information could be delayed several weeks or result in disapproval of the request. To get an answer as quickly as possible, include all supporting documents.
