The RCA 501 transistorized electronic data processing system was installed at the Air Reserve Records Center Oct. 31, 1959, at the York Street building in Denver, Colo. This computer, which took up space of an entire room, was the first one of its kind west of the Mississippi River, costing $212,000 and had a 32K processing capability. (U.S. Air Force photo)
