Hurricane Hunters deploy to Hawaii to fly Guillermo

Senior Airman Nathan Calloway, 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron dropsonde operator, and Marine 2nd Lt. Anthony Borrego, who just graduated from the Naval Academy and serving with the Naval Academy's Training and Research in Oceanic and Atmospheric Processes in Tropical Cyclones, or TROPIC, internship program, prepare Airborne/Air Expendable Bathythermograph, or AXBT, deep water buoys for a flight into Tropical Storm Guillermo off the coast of Hawaii Aug. 3, 2015. Borrego flew with the Air Force Reserve’s 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron into Tropical Storm Guillermo in order to collect salinity and water temperature for research.
