ARPC announces CY17 Air National Guard Lieutenant Colonel and Major promotions

Air Reserve Personnel Center officials announced results for the Calendar Year 2017 Air National Guard Lieutenant Colonel and Major Promotion Selection Board today. The boards selected more than 600 Citizen Airmen for promotion.

The selection boards convened at ARPC April 24 – 28 to determine those officers best qualified to assume the next higher grade. Board members selected 359 for promotion to lieutenant colonel of 478 officers considered and 228 for promotion to major of the 254 considered.

Categories considered during these promotion boards were: Air National Guard Line, Dental Corps, Medical Corps, Nurse Corps, Medical Services Corps, Biomedical Sciences Corps, Chaplains and Line of the Air Force Judge Advocate.

To lieutenant colonel
-- 270 line officers were selected from 326 considered for an 83 percent selection rate.
-- Four chaplains officers were selected from four considered for a 100 percent selection rate.
-- Three DC officers were selected from four considered for a 75 percent selection rate.
-- Four LAF-J officers were selected from six considered for a 67 percent selection rate.
-- 17 MC officers were selected from 21 considered for an 81 percent selection rate.
-- Eight NC officers were selected from 12 considered for a 67 percent selection rate.
-- Six MSC officers were selected from eight considered for a 75 percent selection rate.
-- 12 BSC officers were selected from 15 considered for an 80 percent selection rate.

To major
-- 164 line officers were selected from 179 considered for a 92 percent selection rate.
-- Six chaplain officers were selected from six considered for a 100 percent selection rate.
-- Three DC officers were selected from three considered for a 100 percent selection rate.
-- Three LAF-J officers were selected from three considered for a 100 percent selection rate.
-- Eight MC officers were selected from nine considered for an 89 percent selection rate.
-- 13 NC officers were selected from 15 considered for an 87 percent selection rate.
-- Three MSC officers were selected from three considered for a 100 percent selection rate.
-- 13 BSC officers were selected from 14 considered for a 93 percent selection rate.

-- 27 line officers were selected from 70 considered for a 39 percent selection rate.
-- No chaplain officers selected from one considered.
-- One DC officer was selected from one considered for a 100 percent selection rate.
-- Two LAF-J officer was selected from two considered for a 100 percent selection rate.
-- One MC officer was selected from three considered for a 33 percent selection rate.
-- One NC officer was selected from one considered for a 100 percent selection rate.
-- No MSC officers were considered.
-- Three BSC officers were selected from four considered for a 75 percent selection rate.

To major
-- Eight line officers were selected from 13 considered for a 62 percent selection rate.
-- Two chaplain officers were selected from two considered for a 100 percent selection rate.
-- No DC, LAF-J, MSC or MC officers were considered.
-- Three NC officers were selected from five considered for a 60 percent selection rate.
-- Two BSC officers were selected from two considered for a 100 percent selection rate.
