ALCON,

This message is for widest dissemination (please ensure all Chiefs and Senior Raters are advised of this update)

May 31st marked the Static Close-Out Date (SCOD) for Chief Master Sergeant evaluations. This is not the initial use of the new AF Form 912; however, it marks the first time the Air Force Reserve will be stratifying Chief Master Sergeants. When a Senior Rater indicates a Chiefs is "READY NOW" (section IV, block 2) and recommends them for a future role of Command CMSgt (CCM) (section IV, block 3), the option of stratifying them against their peers will appear (all assigned CMSgts). As we move towards more purposeful and deliberate development of our enlisted leaders, a Senior Rater's direction and recommendation is critical in facilitating this development. Attached is a copy of the Enlisted Evaluations FAQs, this can also be found on myPers.

The AF Form 912 will not replace the CCM Screening Board Worksheet for future boards, but will be used in conjunction with the CCM Screening Board Worksheet for board consideration/recommendation. Continued use of the CCM Screening Board Worksheet will ensure "real-time" recommendations are considered during years where our Traditional Reserve CMSgts do not receive evaluations.

Command Chiefs will play a critical role in advising during this deliberation. Upon successful completion of their tour as Command Chief, they will automatically be included in subsequent lists indefinitely and will not require stratification. The Command Chiefs will be considered in the pool of eligible Chiefs (denominator) for stratification of assigned Chiefs who are READY NOW and receive the recommendation for the future role of Command CMSgt.
