Written Communication to Officer Promotion Selection Boards Requirement Change Notification

Title 10 U.S.C. Section 14106 allows officers meeting a promotion selection board to submit written communication addressing any matter they want the board to consider while their record is being reviewed. Previously, Section 14106 required the letters to be submitted to the board no later than the day before the board convene date.

The 2018 NDAA changed section 14106 requiring letters be submitted 10 calendar days before the board convene date. The new requirement is effective immediately and will apply to the upcoming CY18 USAFR Lieutenant Colonel Promotion Selection Board scheduled to convene on June 11, 2018. A change to ARPCM 17-39, CY18 Air Force Reserve Line and Nonline Lieutenant Colonel Promotion Selection Board Convening Notice, has been posted to myPers and the ARPC SharePoint site.
