ARPC announces CY18 Air National Guard Lieutenant Colonel and Major promotions

Air Reserve Personnel Center officials announced results for the Calendar Year 2018 Air National Guard Lieutenant Colonel and Major Promotion Selection Board today. The boards selected more than 600 Citizen Airmen for promotion.

The selection boards convened at ARPC April 23-27, 2018, to determine those officers best qualified to assume the next higher grade. Board members selected 434 for promotion to lieutenant colonel out of 576 officers considered, and 222 for promotion to major out of the 262 officers considered.

Categories considered during these promotion boards were: Air National Guard Line, Dental Corps (DC), Medical Corps (MC), Nurse Corps (NC), Medical Services Corps (MSC), Biomedical Sciences Corps (BSC), Chaplains and Line of the Air Force Judge Advocate (LAF-J).

To lieutenant colonel 
-- 335 line officers were selected from 404 considered for an 83 percent selection rate. 
-- Five chaplains officers were selected from six considered for an 83 percent selection rate. 
-- Four DC officers were selected from four considered for a 100 percent selection rate. 
-- Six LAF-J officers were selected from seven considered for an 86 percent selection rate. 
-- 19 MC officers were selected from 23 considered for an 83 percent selection rate. 
-- Eight NC officers were selected from nine considered for an 89 percent selection rate. 
-- Eight MSC officers were selected from 10 considered for an 80 percent selection rate. 
-- Eight BSC officers were selected from 11 considered for a 73 percent selection rate. 

To major 
-- 142 line officers were selected from 167 considered for an 85 percent selection rate. 
-- Four chaplain officers were selected from four considered for a 100 percent selection rate.
-- Three DC officers were selected from four considered for a 75 percent selection rate. 
-- Eight LAF-J officers were selected from eight considered for a 100 percent selection rate. 
-- Seven MC officers were selected from eight considered for an 88 percent selection rate. 
-- 18 NC officers were selected from 19 considered for a 95 percent selection rate. 
-- Five MSC officers were selected from five considered for a 100 percent selection rate.
-- 19 BSC officers were selected from 21 considered for a 90 percent selection rate.

-- 32 line officers were selected from 85 considered for a 38 percent selection rate. 
-- No chaplain officers considered. 
-- No DC officer was selected from one considered. 
-- One LAF-J officer was selected from two considered for a 50 percent selection rate. 
-- Two MC officers were selected from five considered for a 40 percent selection rate. 
-- One NC officer was selected from two considered for a 50 percent selection rate. 
-- One MSC officer was selected from two considered for a 50 percent selection rate.
-- Four BSC officers were selected from five considered for an 80 percent selection rate. 

To major 
-- 11 line officers were selected from 18 considered for a 61 percent selection rate. 
-- No Chap, DC, or MSC officers were considered.
-- One LAF-J officer was selected from one considered for a 100 percent selection rate
-- One MC officer was selected from one considered for a 100 percent selection rate
-- Three NC officers were selected from four considered for a 75 percent selection rate.
-- One BSC officer was selected from two considered for a 50 percent selection rate.
