CY19 Air National Guard Promotion Announcement: Lieutenant Colonel, Major

Headquarters Air Reserve Personnel Center officials announced results for the Calendar Year 2019 Air National Guard Lieutenant Colonel and Major Promotion Selection Board today. The boards selected more than 500 Citizen Airmen for promotion.

The selection boards convened at HQ ARPC April 15-19, 2019, to determine those officers best qualified to assume the next higher grade. Board members selected 369 for promotion to lieutenant colonel of 490 officers considered and 200 for promotion to major of the 223 considered.

Categories considered during these promotion boards were: Air National Guard Line, Dental Corps (DC), Medical Corps (MC), Nurse Corps (NC), Medical Services Corps (MSC), Biomedical Sciences Corps (BSC), Chaplains and Line of the Air Force Judge Advocate (LAF-J).

Selection statistics in-the-promotion zone:

To lieutenant colonel

-- 249 line officers were selected from 303 considered for an 82 percent selection rate.
-- 10 chaplains officers were selected from 12 considered for an 83 percent selection rate.
-- Three DC officers were selected from three considered for a 100 percent selection rate.
-- Nine LAF-J officers were selected from 6 considered for a 67 percent selection rate.
-- 20 MC officers were selected from 24 considered for a 83 percent selection rate.
-- 13 NC officers were selected from 15 considered for an 87 percent selection rate.
-- Five MSC officers were selected from five considered for a 100 percent selection rate.
-- Five BSC officers were selected from six considered for an 83 percent selection rate.


To major
-- 119 line officers were selected from 128 considered for a 93 percent selection rate.
-- Six chaplain officers were selected from seven considered for an 86 percent selection rate.
-- One DC officer was selected from two considered for a 50 percent selection rate.
-- Two LAF-J officers were selected from two considered for a 100 percent selection rate.
-- Four MC officers were selected from five considered for an 80 percent selection rate.
-- 22 NC officers were selected from 21 considered for a 95 percent selection rate.
-- Six MSC officers were selected from seven considered for an 86 percent selection rate.
-- 17 BSC officers were selected from 16 considered for a 94 percent selection rate.

-- 49 line officers were selected from 94 considered for a 52 percent selection rate.
-- No chaplain officers selected from one considered.
-- No DC officer was selected from one considered.

-- Two MC officers were selected from five considered for a 40 percent selection rate.
-- No NC officer was selected from two considered.
-- One MSC officer was selected from three considered for a 33 percent selection rate.
-- Three BSC officers were selected from four considered for a 75 percent selection rate.

To major
-- 20 line officers were selected from 26 considered for a 77 percent selection rate.
-- No Chap, LAF-J and MSC officers were considered.
-- One DC officer was selected from one considered for a 100 percent selection rate
-- No MC officer was selected from one considered.
-- Two NC officers were selected from three considered for a 67 percent selection rate.
-- Two BSC officers were selected from two considered for a 100 percent selection rate.
