More than 400 people gathered at the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum here recently for the 7th Annual Veterans Appreciation Breakfast.

The event was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Denver Southeast to pay tribute and honor veterans for their service to the nation.

Those in attendance enjoyed a free breakfast, guest speakers, posting of the colors by the Air Reserve Personnel Center honor guard, music by the Smoky Hill Brass, and the opportunity to tour the museum and their many historic aircraft.

In addition to local public servants, several senior military leaders from Buckley Air Force Base were on hand to honor veterans including Brig. Gen. Jay Flournoy, commander of the Air Reserve Personnel Center; Col. Kenneth Klein, ARPC vice commander; Chief Master Sgt. Brian C. L. Wong, ARPC command chief; and Marine Corps Capt. Gary Sampson, commanding officer of Company A, Marine Cryptologic Support Battalion.

The keynote address was given by Lt. Col. George H. Brauchler, U.S. Army Reserve judge advocate general corps, Regional Defense Council, Central States Region and District Attorney for the 18th Judicial District.
