The Air Reserve Personnel Center officially wrapped up their contributions to the 2013 Air Force Assistance Fund and raised more than $2,000 during the 36-day campaign March 15, 2013, on Buckley Air Force Base, Colo.

With ARPC's contributions, which go toward Team Buckley's total, the base currently has raised more than $35,000. This eclipsed the original goal of $30,000.

"I am very happy to report that we not only met our goal, we exceeded it," said Tech. Sgt. Zakia Walker, ARPC's AFAF representative. "I want to personally thank everyone for your dedication and commitment to seeing this campaign through."

The annual campaign provides an opportunity to help Airmen with aid in emergency situations, educational needs, or to ensure a secure retirement home is available for widows or widowers of Air Force members in need of assistance.

It raises funds for four charities that support the Air Force family in time of need: the Air Force Village Foundation, Air Force Aid Society, General and Mrs. Curtis E. LeMay Foundation, and Air Force Enlisted Village.

"The AFAF is a great example of Air Force people taking care of their own and demonstrates 'A Commitment to Caring,'" Walker said. "Just a few dollars a month will ensure your Airmen have the assistance they need when they need it most."
