Buckley provides bundles for expecting parents

BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Expecting a bundle of joy? Every other month the Airman and Family Readiness Center provides parents an abundance of information and bundles of baby products to expecting families.

Families are given a bundle that includes towels, clothing, baby blankets, bibs, bedding and a tote bag sponsored by the Air Force Aid Society.

"The bundles are really good to have as a first step for when parents bring home a baby," said Latoya Marble, A&FRC community readiness consultant.

The seminar includes a finance class that focuses on budgeting for a new family member and the support programs the military community offers for parents-to-be. Other presentations at the class include fitness before and after pregnancy, new parenthood and new-parent support, and brain games for boosting a baby's mental development.

"We offer information on how to be successful financially while having a baby (and) how to stimulate your baby's brain while they are developing," said Marble. The class also offers "fitness tips for moms before and after child birth and resources for military families."

The class is open to all active-duty members of all service branches and reservists on Title 10 orders, as well as their spouses.

"I would recommend expecting parents to attend this class," said Master Sgt. James Felts, 460th Space Communication Squadron, who participated in the Jan. 23 Bundles for Babies seminar. "The information is really useful."
