Mobilization Assistant to the Chief, Air Force Reserve visited ARPC

Maj. Gen. Richard Shook, Jr., Mobilization Assistant to the Chief, Air Force Reserve, visited the Headquarters Air Reserve Personnel Center May 8, 2012, on Buckley Air Force Base, Colo.

Shook met with employees from the center, received a mission briefing and discussed key topics with Col. Pat Blassie, ARPC commander and other senior leadership at ARPC. General Shook received briefings on the Total Force Service Center - Denver, the promotion board secretariat, field support services element, retirements and records, mobilization augmentee discussions and Readiness Management Group, Detachment 29 rules of engagement.

The general entered the Air Force in May 1978 as a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy. His assignments include command and staff positions in U.S. Joint Forces Command, Air Education and Training Command, and Air Combat Command. General Shook's combat assignment included duty in the Combined Air and Space Operations Center in Southwest Asia during operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. He transitioned to the Air Force Reserve in 1989 and is a senior pilot with more than 2,200 hours in the T-37, T-38 and F-15.
