Stenner: People are our strength

Lt. Gen. Charles E. Stenner, Jr., chief of the Air Force Reserve and commander of Air Force Reserve Command, discusses the force structure announcement in a video message released April 13, 2012.

The general talks about the planned reductions in Air Force Reserve and the potential changes to the Total Force. He emphasized the important role the Air Reserve Component plays in the defense of the nation.

"The Air Reserve Component provides 33 percent of the personnel requirements for the Air Force, 38 percent of combat aircraft requirements and 46 percent of the mobility airlift requirements," he said. "We continue to be an operationally engaged Reserve that is strategically prepared to surge for national requirements. People are our strength."
