Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Manpower and Reserve Affairs Daniel Ginsberg visited Headquarters Air Reserve Personnel Center to learn about the overall ARPC mission and strategic perspective.

Ginsberg's first order of business was a tour of the brand new ARPC building at Buckley Air Force Base. Then prior to a tour of the current building, he received a mission overview by ARPC Commander Col. Patricia Blassie and a future systems/integration briefing given by Lt. Col. Eric Burgener, ARPC Future Operations and Integration director.

Ginsberg is responsible for providing overall supervision of manpower, military and civilian personnel, Reserve component affairs, and readiness support for the Department of the Air Force. His visit to ARPC gave him direct insight into ARPC's current business model and a better understanding of current functionalities and responsibilities.

This visit helped solidify the direction the Air Force is heading with the 3-in-1 concept, which is the continuous merger of functions for active duty, Guard and Reserve.

"It is clear that ARPC understands where we want to go with the 3-in-1 concept," Ginsberg said. "Getting there will be lots of hard work and a major culture change, but if we stay with it we will improve our process and increase our continuous service to all Airmen - active duty, Guard and Reserve. I can see from the advancements ARPC is already making toward this initiative, such as the Total Force Service Center, that this center has a clear grasp on what the future holds and is committed to increasing efficiencies for the total force."

Additionally, Ginsberg received briefings from all ARPC directors about the center to include transitions management, Total Force Service Center operations, accessions/records management, sustaining operational and strategic forces, force development, and promotions.

"While visiting, Secretary Ginsberg validated that ARPC is on the right track with our Total Force Service Center concept and operations," Blassie said. "We are 100 percent committed to the 3-in-1 concept, which will streamline our processes and increase our efficiencies for the entire Air Force."

Prior to heading for a visit to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Ginsberg took the time to thank the men and women of ARPC for their due diligence in serving generations of Airmen.
