ARPC announces major, lieutenant colonel promotions

Air Reserve Personnel Center officials here announced results for the 2011 Air National Guard Line and Nonline Major and Lieutenant Colonel Promotion Selection Boards and the 2011 USAFR Chaplain and Line of the Air Force - Judge Advocate Major and Lieutenant Colonel Promotion Selection boards today. These boards selected 640 Airmen for promotion.

The selection boards convened at the center April 11 to determine those officers qualified to assume the next higher grade. Board members selected 565 of 693 Air National Guard officers considered and 75 of 160 Air Force Reserve officers considered.

Categories considered during these promotion boards are: Air National Guard Line, Chaplain, Dental Corps (DC), Line of the Air Force - Judge Advocate (LAF-J), Medical Corps (MC), Nurse Corps (NC), Medical Service Corps (MSC) and Biomedical Sciences Corps (BSC) officers; and Air Force Reserve Chaplain and LAF-J officers.

To lieutenant colonel
-- 204 line officers were selected from 252 considered for an 81 percent selection rate.
-- Four chaplains were selected from five considered for an 80 percent selection rate.
-- One DC officer was selected from two considered for a 50 percent selection rate.
-- Five LAF-J officers were selected from five considered.
-- Eight MC officers were selected from nine considered for an 89 percent selection rate.
-- 19 NC officers were selected from 23 considered for an 83 percent selection rate.
-- Three MSC officers were selected from four considered for a 75 percent selection rate.
-- Nine BSC officers were selected from 11 considered for an 82 percent selection rate.

-- 198 line officers were selected from 220 considered for a 90 percent selection rate.
-- Five chaplains were selected from seven considered for a 71 percent selection rate.
-- One DC officer was selected from one considered.
-- Five LAF-J officers were selected from five considered.
-- Eight MC officers were selected from eight considered.
-- Nine NC officers were selected from 11 considered for an 82 percent selection rate.
-- Six MSC officers were selected from seven considered for an 86 percent selection rate.
-- 13 BSC officers were selected from 14 considered for a 93 percent selection rate.

-- Two NC officers were selected from four considered for a 50 percent selection rate.

The Date of Rank and Promotion Effective Date for officers selected for promotion will be the date the officer completes the required two years time in grade, public release date, or Secretary of Defense approval, whichever is later.
