NEW ENHANCEMENT FOR vPC-GR (AFRC) - A new enhancement to the Reserve Officer Development Plan (R-ODP) application within vPC-GR allows individuals to recall their development plan at any point in the review process. This eliminates the need for individuals to contact the Total Force Service Center (TFSC) to have the development plan returned to them.

AFPERS (AIR FORCE PERSONNEL SERVICES) WEBSITE NOW LINKED ON vPC-GR (ANG/AFRC) - When individuals select knowledge links within vPC-GR, it will require an additional login and may require account creation. You will locate the "create account" button in upper right hand corner of the page hosting the login prompt. The AFPERS website was created to establish a single online knowledge base for active duty Regular Air Force, Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve, civilians and retirees. TRANSFER TO THE RETIRED RESERVE ON MSD/HYTD (AFRC) - By law, Airmen who qualify for retirement are automatically transferred to the Retired Reserve on an officer's Mandatory Separation Date (MSD) or an enlisted member's High Year of Tenure Date (HYTD).
This transfer automatically takes place four months prior to the MSD/HYTD without the member submitting a retirement application through vPC-GR. However, to retire earlier than a projected MSD/HYTD, the member MUST apply at least five months prior to the desired retirement date through vPC-GR. A request must also be made through vPC-GR if a member plans to retire on their MSD/HYTD but would like to have a retirement ceremony or request a certificate for their spouse.
As a reminder Enlisted Airmen, if an Expiration Term of Service (ETS) expires before the HYTD, automatic transfer to the Retired Reserve WILL NOT occur. For instance, if a member's ETS is July 1, 2011 and HYTD is July 15, 2011, the member will be discharged on July 1 and will not be transferred to the Retired Reserve. To avoid this situation, we must ensure that an enlisted member, who wishes to retire on their HYTD, reenlists or has their enlistment extended to the HYTD. In no case should an enlisted member's ETS be later than their HYTD. For further information, contact the Total Force Service Center - Denver at 800-525-0102
