ARPC announces lieutenant colonel, major promotions Published July 18, 2010 ARPC Public Affairs DENVER -- Air Reserve Personnel Center officials here announced results for the 2010 Air National Guard Line and Nonline Lieutenant Colonel and Major and the 2010 Air Force Reserve Chaplain and Line of the Air Force - Judge Advocate Major and Lieutenant Colonel Promotion Selection boards today. These boards selected 497 Airmen for promotion. The selection boards convened at the center April 19 to determine those officers qualified to assume the next higher grade. Board members selected 429 of 451 Air National Guard officers considered and 68 of 185 Air Force Reserve officers considered. Categories considered during these promotion boards are: Air National Guard Line, Chaplain, Dental Corps (DC), Line of the Air Force - Judge Advocate (LAF-J), Medical Corps (MC), Nurse Corps (NC), Medical Service Corps (MSC) and Biomedical Sciences Corps (BSC) officers; and Air Force Reserve Chaplain and LAF-J officers. Air National Guard board results are: Selection statistics in-the-promotion zone (IPZ): To lieutenant colonel -- 181 line officers were selected from 239 considered for a 76 percent selection rate. -- Six chaplains were selected from eight considered for a 75 percent selection rate. -- Three DC officers were selected from three considered. -- Four LAF-J officers were selected from four considered. -- Seven MC officers were selected from nine considered for a 78 percent selection rate. -- 24 NC officers were selected from 27 considered for an 89 percent selection rate. -- Four MSC officers were selected from five considered for an 80 percent selection rate. -- Three BSC officers were selected from three considered. The Date of Rank and Promotion Effective Date for officers selected for promotion will be the date the officer completes the required two years time in grade, public release date, or Secretary of Defense approval, whichever is later.
