The 2009-2010 Combined Federal Campaign at the Air Reserve Personnel Center, here, is under way. The active campaign began Oct. 5 and runs through Oct 30.

This year's campaign chairman is Master Sgt. Jerry Dowdy of ARPC's directorate of Plans, Policy and Force Integration.

"All the CFC charities, local and national, need our help even more this year," Sergeant Dowdy said.

ARPC Airmen and civilian employees contributed more than $38,000 during last year's campaign.

ARPC contributions are also included in the total for the Denver metro area's campaign, which raised more than $3.5 million last year. The Denver metro area CFC includes nearly 32,000 federal employees and military personnel throughout 17 counties.

"The CFC is another chance for each of us to make a difference in the community," Sergeant Dowdy said.

The CFC was established in 1961 by President John F. Kennedy. It is the largest workplace charity campaign in the country, and the only charitable solicitation allowed in the federal workplace.

Contributions can be made by cash, check, payroll deduction or online. Donors designate which charities receive their money by filling out a pledge card. For more information, contact Sergeant Dowdy at Ext. 6-7081.

The campaign will hold two fundraisers with all proceeds going to CFC. On Oct. 16 there will be a pizza sale, and Oct. 30 the annual harvest putt putt tournament. Teams pay $20 for a team of four.
