Air Reserve Personnel Center employees here have a new resource to help broaden their careers. The grand opening of ARPC's career development library was Aug. 31.

"This is a great opportunity for people to find information to help improve their careers and improve the processes here at ARPC," said Brig. Gen. Kevin Pottinger, ARPC commander. "There is a huge wealth of information here, and I encourage everyone to get the word out that this is available to them."

The library contains 192 career development books, audio documents and course material, including: "7 Habits of Highly Effective People," "The Hamster Revolution," "The Lost Art of Listening," and "Who Moved My Cheese."

Most of the library's collection was donated or collected from courses taught at ARPC, and employees are encouraged to donate other career development related books or information.

"I want to fill it with what you need and want," said Virginia Ostendorf, a contractor in ARPC's mission support logistics where the library is maintained.

The library is a part of ARPC's ongoing workforce development initiative. Officials are also creating mentoring and new hire training programs as part of the initiative.

The library is located at Post 2J20 and the collection of titles can be viewed on ARPC's shared drive by clicking on the "MSL VAO" folder.
