Awards and Decs vPC-GR capability Published June 15, 2007 ARPC NOTAM 018 -- Commanders, Directors, Since the launch of the vPC-GR Awards and Decorations capabilities in November, we've received many intuitive recommendations from the field -- I want you to know we're listening and taking action. Among our most often voiced questions about the capability are: "Why do I have to log on to review every individual award nomination?" When performing coordination based on an individual e-mail, you are establishing a new vPC-GR session. Awards and Decorations applications contain FOUO information that must be protected against unauthorized release. Also, identities must be verified before nominations can be approved. * Solution under way -- We are developing a role-based routing structure within vPC-GR that will enable account holders to perform all actions under one login--estimated completion is July 07. "Why do I have to manually input the e-mail address of the next coordinating official?" For maximum flexibility, requests for coordination can be sent to a home, military or business e-mail address. These addresses may not be available within vPC-GR. * Solution under way -- The new hierarchy will enable Airmen to define multiple addresses for delivery, automatically route requests, and still provide the ability to select a specific vPC-GR account holder when appropriate--e-mail addresses will no longer be entered. "Why do I have to know who the next coordinating official is for the award being nominated?" We strive to develop vPC-GR applications with flexibility to enable commanders to determine the best local process for your organization. I encourage you to publish a current policy specifying your local process and clarifying who should coordinate your vPC-GR nominations before you receive them for final approval.
