Video Tour Guide, New ARPC Leaders, Enhancements Released, Contact Center curtailed May 9 Published April 30, 2009 NOTAM 061 -- Commanders- VIDEO TOUR GUIDE ADDED TO VPC-GR (AFRC/ANG) - ARPC added the first video tour guide to the virtual Personnel Center - Guard and Reserve. This guide, available through links followed by a video icon, gives an overview of the vPC-GR, explains how to associate a common access card and reviews the Dashboard with associated worklist and action requests tabs. Feedback is welcomed on the quality, accessibility and effectiveness of the videos through an online form. Future guides will explain other vPC-GR features. ARPC WELCOMES NEW LEADERS (AFRC/ANG) - ARPC welcomed its new commander, Col. Kevin Pottinger, during a ceremony at the center April 15. He is the former commander of the 301st Fighter Wing in Fort Worth, Texas. His new vice commander, Col. Dave Zeh, will arrive in July from Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla., where he is commander of the 325th Mission Support Group. AWARDS AND DECORATIONS ENHANCEMENTS RELEASED (AFRC/ ANG) - The latest enhancements to the virtual Personnel Center - Guard and Reserve's awards and decorations capability were released April 29. Three significant changes are: -- Colonel group commanders can approve most Air Force Commendation Medals and certain Meritorious Service Medals. -- Justification statements are displayed within the coordination form. -- The ability to identify previously assigned Airmen so their decorations can be processed through the former organization. ARPC counselors also have the ability to return decorations if they require additional editing by submitters. In all, 14 changes have been added to the capability. CONTACT CENTER CURTAILED MAY 9 (AFRC/ANG) - The current UTA scheduling and historic workload volume on Mother's Day weekend demonstrated that phone operation support on May 9 are not justified. As always the Web, e-mail, and fax channels remain available 24/7. The center resumes Saturday phone support May 16 and retains a three-Saturday a month schedule. //signed// KEVIN E.
