From a temporary filing clerk working in main files to managing nearly 70 Airmen and civilian employees, Pat Camara has accomplished a lot in 27 years at the Air Reserve Personnel Center.

On March 20, Mrs. Camara was named the Air Force's Personnel Senior Manager of the Year.

"I was shocked. The commander came in and announced it in the class that I was in," she said. "That made it special that it was announced in front of many of my peers, people that have known me and that I've worked with for a long time."

Mrs. Camara serves as Chief of Service Delivery Division in ARPC's Directorate of Personnel Services. There she manages three branches made up of 12 teams responsible for a host of personnel services for Citizen Airmen and retirees, and their families.

She started at ARPC in 1982 as a temporary employee filing documents in the field records of Reserve Airmen and retirees. She says the variety of different jobs she's held at ARPC have helped fuel her success.

"I would highly recommend you move around in ARPC," she said. "That's how you learn. Things are always changing and improving here."

Although recognized as the Air Force's top senior personnelist, Mrs. Camara said it's the people she works with who should share credit for her success.

"Without them, it couldn't have been possible," she said. "They've supported me and that has made all the difference."
