ARPC announces major promotions

DENVER --  Air Reserve Personnel Center officials announced the 2009 Air Force Reserve Line and Health Major Promotion Selection Board results today. This board selected 554 Airmen for promotion.

A selection board convened at the center here Feb. 23-27 to determine those officers qualified to assume the next higher grade. Board members selected 554 of 1,923 Air Force Reserve officers considered.

Categories considered during this promotion board are: Line, Dental Corps (DC), Medical Corps (MC), Nurse Corps (NC), Medical Service Corps (MSC) and Biomedical Sciences Corp (BSC) officers.

Board results are:

Participating selection statistics in-the-promotion zone (IPZ):
-- 299 Line officers were selected from 398 considered for a 75 percent selection rate.
-- Six DC officers were selected from eight considered for a 75 percent selection rate.
-- 10 MC officers were selected from 14 considered for a 71 percent selection rate.
-- 29 NC officers were selected from 76 considered for a 38 percent selection rate.
-- 38 MSC officers were selected from 42 considered for a 90 percent selection rate.
-- 16 BSC officers were selected from 16 considered for an 89 percent selection rate.

Participating selection statistics above-the-promotion zone (APZ):
-- 37 Line officers were selected from 88 considered for a 42 percent selection rate.
-- One DC officer was selected from three considered for a 33 percent selection rate.
-- Three MC officers were selected from nine considered for a 33 percent selection rate.
-- Two NC officers were selected from 12 considered for a 17 percent selection rate.
-- One MSC officer was selected from two considered for a 50 percent selection rate.
-- Two BSC officers were selected from four considered for a 50 percent selection rate.

Nonparticipating selection statistics in-the-promotion zone (IPZ):
-- One Line officer was selected from 513 considered for a 0.1 percent selection rate.
-- One DC officer was selected from 39 considered for a 9 percent selection rate.
-- No MC officers were selected from nine considered.
-- One NC officer was selected from 73 considered for a 1 percent selection rate.
-- One MSC officer was selected from 12 considered for an 8 percent selection rate.
-- One BSC officer was selected from 51 considered for a 2 percent selection rate.

Nonparticipating selection statistics above-the-promotion zone (APZ):
-- No Line officers were selected from 242 considered.
-- No DC officers were selected from 41 considered.
-- No MC officers were selected from 22 considered.
-- No NC officers were selected from 43 considered.
-- No MSC officers were selected from 3 considered.
-- No BSC officers were selected from 64 considered.

Selection statistics position vacancy (PV):
-- 84 Line officers were selected from 114 considered for a 74 percent selection rate.
-- No DC officers were considered.
-- No MC officers were selected from one considered.
-- 11 NC officers were selected from 11 considered.
-- Five MSC officers were selected from six considered for an 83 percent selection rate.
-- Five BSC officers were selected from five considered.

Promotion effective dates are based on the individual's time in grade. Projected effective dates will be posted on the ARPC Web site, www.arpc.afrc.af.mil.
