Buckley Air Force Base's Equal Opportunity office begins serving Air Reserve Personnel Center employees March 2.

"This is an important right and service for our employees," said Col. Jerry Costello, ARPC commander. "Using Buckley gives them access to a fully staffed office that has the resources to take care of our people."

The change means ARPC will no longer have on-site equal employment opportunity counselors. The Buckley EO staff offers full-time specialists who manage a number of related programs and services.

EEO counselors at ARPC served as collateral duty counselors performing EEO duties on a part-time basis.

The Buckley EO office provides military equal opportunity, civilian equal employment opportunity and affirmative employment program, and special emphasis programs.

The change comes as ARPC prepares for the 2011 move to Buckley. The Air Force also began merging military employment opportunity and equal employment opportunity programs under one office in January 2008.
