Mike McPherson, an information technology specialist and acquisitions manager in the Directorate of Communications and Information, is the ARPC spotlight of the week.
Mr. McPherson has 28 years of government service. He is from Washington, D.C., and enjoys playing golf, dining out with friends and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers games during football season. He said he has been a proud member of the "Steeler Nation" since 1969.

What is your most memorable experience at ARPC?

Having Col. Rhett Porter, ARPC's former vice commander, standing at my desk on the deadline of the first Sugarplum Fairy contest willing to write me a check for more than $400 to buy his way out of the contest. I talked him out of it, and he became ARPC's first Sugarplum Fairy.

If you could change one thing about ARPC what would it be?

We have a unique mix of Air Force civilian, active duty, reservist, Guard and civilian contracted employees here at ARPC. This means depending on your situation, you may have entitlements, rights or liberties that others may or may not have and visa versa. I believe if we all understand this and view each other's situation on a case-by-case basis, versus trying to generalize or group everyone together, we will improve all of our work environments.

What would you like to do when you retire?

I plan on traveling with my wife and playing as much golf as possible.
