Virginia Harrison, civilian pay technician in the Directorate of Financial Management, is the ARPC spotlight of the week.

Ms. Harrison has been a federal civilian employee for 39 years, and has worked at ARPC for 13 years. She started at ARPC working in the microfiche office and military orders, and then with civilian pay where she has been for three years.

Ms. Harrison is from Sterling, Colo. She enjoys crocheting, knitting, embroidering, quilting, reading, playing cards, playing with her grandchildren, bird watching, singing in the church choir, and not much else -- "Since the age thing crept up on me," she said.

What is your most memorable experience at ARPC?

Singing in the Gilchrist choir. We would also visit hospitals during the Christmas holiday and sing to the patients and elderly, and sing at our holiday parties.

I enjoyed the change of commands. There is always the chance to meet new people, with different experiences.

If you could change one thing about ARPC what would it be?

Communication. Even with the speed of e-mail, there are still problems to solve because of the lack of communication.

What would you like to do when you retire?

Keep right on going with my hobbies, and watching the grandchildren grow up. Most of all continuing my work in the church.
