Tech. Sgt. Lisa O'Connor, functional analyst in the Directorate of Future Operations and Integration, is the spotlight of the week.

Sergeant O'Connor has been in the Air Force for nearly 18 years, and she is from Marion, Ohio.

Sergeant O'Connor enjoys listening to music, going to concerts, cats, boating, camping, traveling and watching crime shows like "Forensic Files," "Snapped," and "Inside American Jail."

What is your most memorable Air Force experience?

There are so many after all these years. I would have to say my favorite military memories would be my tour at Osan Air Base, South Korea, my job working at Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps in Knoxville, Tenn., and my job working in Personnel Readiness Function at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas.

Why did you join the Air Force?

I joined the Air Force because I wanted a career that would give me the opportunity to travel, become independent and mature.

If you could change one thing about the Air Force what would it be?

If I could change anything, I would change the attitudes of people. I'd love to take the "me, me, me," out of some people.

If you were not in the military, where would you be?

I would probably be working in an administrative field or with animals. I love animals, and I feel a lot of joy just being around them.

What would you like to do when you retire?

I have several thoughts in mind for when I retire. I may use my skills gained from my military service working in an office position. I may own a tanning salon. Or I may work with animals, opening a kennel or pet day care, becoming certified to work as a veterinary assistant, or in a veterinary clerical position.
