Officials at the Air Reserve Personnel Center here gathered for the first process council meeting Oct. 8.

One of the primary goals of the council is to bring together ARPC leaders who can affect change and improvements that tie into the center's strategic plan, said Capt. Paul Hubenthal, chief of Air Force Smart Operations for the 21st Century training at ARPC. The process council is an AFSO 21 initiative.

"ARPC is transforming as an organization," Captain Hubenthal said. "One change at ARPC can affect so many others. The (council) is a forum of decision makers assembled to make improvements at ARPC that are in-line with the strategic plan."

The council meets monthly to discuss and review the status of strategic goals and objectives, metrics, transformation initiatives, and to oversee execution and effectiveness.

The process council also consolidates several meetings at ARPC, including the Executive Steering Committee, Service Delivery Transformation Team, metrics review and the commander's staff meeting for that week. As a result of consolidating meetings, it saves time for other priorities.

"This is an opportunity to take key components of several meetings and put them into one," Captain Hubenthal said. "Less time in meetings means more time for taking care of our customers."

The process council is guided by ARPC's Strategic Plan which outlines the center's mission and vision statements, goals and objectives.

A preliminary strategic plan was released in August at commander's call. Final details of the plan and the center's goals are expected to be provided to all Airmen and civilian employees at commander's call Nov. 5.
