What do reservists think? Published Oct. 9, 2008 By Air Force Reserve Strategic Communications WASHINGTON, D.C. -- It's been one year since the stand-up of our Air Force Reserve Strategic Communications' Directorate on the Air Staff. Dedicated to communicating the strategic messages of the Air Force Reserve, AF/RES seeks to improve its processes and methods of communication. To do this, they need to know what Reserve Airmen are thinking. This year, reservists will be invited to participate in Internal Communication Assessment Groups and focus groups conducted by the Everett Group. In the assessment groups, reservists will be asked to join their active-duty Air Force and Air National Guard partners by participating in monthly surveys. Airmen will be asked to provide their input on questions and issues related to the Air Force Reserve Command and its personnel. Additionally, the Everett Group will be visiting selected Reserve units based on their mobilization, deployment and projected Air and Space Expeditionary Force tasking schedules, and will be asking Reserve Airmen to voluntarily participate in confidential round table discussions and surveys in what are called focus groups. An assortment of AFSCs and ranks will be used to ensure they capture an honest assessment. Reservists are encouraged to participate in these groups. If Airmen are asked to fill out a survey or join a focus group, they should consider taking time to tell what they think. Their input will help senior leaders make informed key communiqués regarding the Air Force Reserve.
