FY09 TIG Reduction Approved for O-5/O-6; Sept 08 & FY09 UTA Support; RDEDB Enhancement Published Aug. 27, 2008 ARPC NOTAM 048 -- Commanders--TIG REDUCTION APPROVED FOR FY09 OFFICERS RETIREMENT NLT 30 SEP 09 (ANG, AFRC) -- Effective March 22, 2007, the SAF approved a reduction of three year time-in-grade requirement for retiring Reserve colonels and lieutenant colonels to two years TIG for no more than 2 percent of Selected Reserve end strength per grade. This same provision is approved for retirements in FY09--quota for AFRC - 24 colonels, 107 lieutenant colonels; quota for ANG - 23 colonels and 102 lieutenant colonels. For AFRC - all colonels and otherwise eligible AGR and eligible ART personnel may apply. All AGR Lt Cols are eligible, but traditional unit and IMA Lt Cols must be affected by BRAC, PBD 720 and other force structure changes. For ANG - all colonels and lieutenant colonels are eligible, with those affected by BRAC, the ANG reset or other force structure changes given first priority. AFRC eligible Lt Cols must use the vPC-GR retirement application at http://arpc.afrc.af.mil/. For ANG members, use of the vPC-GR retirement application is mandatory, with the exception of Stat Tour members. AFRC AGRs assigned to HQ organizations and ANG Stat Tour members, applying for an active duty retirement, must apply through AFPC via the virtual Military Personnel Flight at http://wwa.afpc.randolph.af.mil/VS/ CONTACT CENTER SEPTEMBER, FY09 UTA SUPPORT (ANG, AFRC) - Reserve Personnel Contact Center counselors will provide service Sept. 6, 7 and Sept. 20, 21 and can be reached by calling 1-800-525-0102 (preferred) or DSN 926-6528. Saturday hours are 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. MT and Sunday from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. MT. Always looking for better ways to serve our customers, ARPC assessed ANG and AFR UTA programming for Fiscal 2009 along with historical customer service calls and determined that providing service the first three Saturdays of each month reaches 95 percent of scheduled UTAs. Therefore, beginning Oct. 1, 2008, Contact Center customer service counselors along with technical advisers will be available the first, second and third Saturday of every month from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. MT to assist you. RESERVE DEVELOPMENTAL EDUCATION DESIGNATION BOARD APPLICATION ENHANCEMENT (AFRC) -- The RDEDB application has new enhancements to ease the application process. Launched Aug. 18, the application, http://arpc.afrc.af.mil/vPC-GR/rdedb.asp, now has the ability to save an incomplete application, allowing the customer to return later for completion, enhanced auto-population of customer personal information and other features.
