ARPC Strategic Plan released Published Aug. 15, 2008 By Mike Molina Editor DENVER -- The Air Reserve Personnel Center Strategic Plan through 2011 was unveiled at Commander's Call on Aug. 6. The plan communicates the ARPC mission and vision statements, goals and objectives. "I think if we follow this and we get this working, it will help all of us provide better service to our customers, which is really our ultimate goal," said Brig. Gen. Eric Crabtree, ARPC commander. ARPC senior leaders met July 8-10 at an Enterprise Value Stream Mapping event at Buckley Air Force Base to discuss ARPC's strategic goals and priorities. An EVSM is integral to ensuring everyone in the organization is working effectively towards the same goals identified by senior leadership, said Col. Seferino Silva, chief of ARPC's office of Air Force Smart Operations for the 21st Century. The three-day event resulted in an 18-month roadmap that identifies the processes and programs the organization will focus on in the near future to make it more effective. Developing an ARPC Strategic Plan included identifying ARPC's "Values" and "Core Competencies." After identifiying these elements, the team linked these to the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve Command Strategic Plans. After reviewing processes, the team developed goals that would lead the organization toward the vision and objectives to accomplish the goals, said Daryl Gruneisen, director of ARPC's Direcotrate of Plans, who has been coordinating development of the ARPC Strategic Plan. The mission and vision statements are "Dedicated professionals serving Citizen Airmen to sustain the Total Force" and "Provide our Citizen Airmen with unrivaled customer service," respectively. Senior leaders continue to finalize details on the goals. Once they are finished, a brochure outlining the ARPC Strategic Plan will be given to all Airmen and civilian employees, General Crabtree said. "The Strategic Goals are definitely a work in progress," Mr. Gruneisen said. "As the organization works toward accomplishing these goals, issues may arise that require a change in the scope, elimination of, or identification of another goal that should be part of the plan." The plan unveiled at Commander's Call focused on several goals, including: developing a Defense Integrated Management Human Resources center of expertise for the Reserve component, establishing a workforce development program for ARPC employees, and orchestrating a seamless move to Buckley AFB.
