ARPC announces major, lieutenant colonel promotions

Air Reserve Personnel Center officials here announced results for the fiscal 2009 Air National Guard Line and Nonline Lieutenant Colonel and Major and the fiscal 2009 Air Force Reserve Chaplain and Line of the Air Force - Judge Advocate Major and Lieutenant Colonel Promotion Selection boards today. These boards selected 557 Airmen for promotion.

The selection boards convened at the center here April 21 to determine those officers qualified to assume the next higher grade. Board members selected 495 of 644 Air National Guard officers considered and 62 of 208 Air Force Reserve officers considered.

Categories considered during these promotion boards are: Air National Guard Line, Chaplain, Dental Corps (DC), Line of the Air Force - Judge Advocate (LAF-J), Medical Corps (MC), Nurse Corps (NC), Medical Service Corps (MSC) and Biomedical Sciences Corp (BSC) officers; and Air Force Reserve Chaplain and LAF-J officers.

To lieutenant colonel
-- 284 line officers were selected from 351 considered for an 81 percent selection rate.
-- Two chaplains were selected from four considered for a 50 percent selection rate.
-- One DC officer was selected from one considered.
-- Four LAF-J officers were selected from six considered for a 67 percent selection rate.
-- Five MC officers were selected from seven considered for a 71 percent selection rate.
-- 19 NC officers were selected from 23 considered for an 83 percent selection rate.
-- Six MSC officers were selected from six considered.
-- Six BSC officers were selected from eight considered for a 75 percent selection rate.

-- 95 Line officers were selected from 105 considered for a 90 percent selection rate.

-- Five MC officers were selected from eight considered for a 63 percent selection rate.
