Brig. Gen. Eric Crabtree (left), Air Reserve Personnel Center commander, thanks former Staff Sgt. Elmer McGinty (right) for his service at a ceremony Nov. 9. General Crabtree presented seven medals, including the Distinguished Flying Cross, to Sergeant McGinty at the Greatest Generation Foundation in Denver. Sergeant McGinty never formally received his medals after his service in 1943.

Former Staff Sgt. Elmer McGinty (right) thanks everyone who came for the decoration ceremony where he received his medals for his service during World War II. The Nov. 9 ceremony was the first time Sergeant McGinty was officially presented his medals.
