Back-to-school shopping Published April 18, 2007 By Mike Molina ARPC Editor DENVER -- Education is the key to success. That motto is what motivated many of the more than 150 civilian and military employees who attended Wednesday's Education Fair at the Air Reserve Personnel Center and Defense Finance and Accounting Service. "It was helpful because I learned there are a lot of other options as far as (online or campus) classes," said Wendy Marsh, a retirements technician in the Directorate of Personnel Program Management and a student at the Community College of Aurora. Ms. Marsh said her goal is to obtain a bachelor's degree in marine biology. Eleven universities and colleges were represented at the event. Chief Master Sgt. Valerie Pryor, XP, has two bachelor's degrees and visited the fair to learn more about a master's degree in business administration. "Once I got to talk to some of the (representatives) I was able to go back and take what they gave me and do my own research," she said. Visiting the fair made the difference in her decision about where to pursue her degree. "This is a great benefi t and opportunity," she said. John Evans, a military specialist representing DeVry University, said he was happy to be able to participate in the fair. "We're here to help military and civilian employees further their education and their careers," he said.
